With the addition of Ms. Chalice to Cuphead, players can now parry dash in the Delicious Last Course.
But as with any new ability, you might need a guide to make the most of it.

What Is It?
Parry dash is Ms. Chalice’s unique ability that destroys pink objects in the Delicious Last Course. Unlike regular parrying of Cuphead and Mugman, you don’t need to double jump to do a parry dash, and Ms. Chalice slaps pink enemies both on the ground or mid-air.
How to Parry Dash in the Cuphead DLC
While playing as Ms. Chalice, you can parry dash by pressing the Y-button (Triangle on PlayStation and Shift on PC). For a jumping parry dash, press the A-button (X on PlayStation and PC) to jump and then the Y-button to dash mid-air.
Why You Need It
Several missions and boss fights in the Delicious Last Course require you to parry dash. Take the Knight boss fight, for example. Since he’s wearing armor, you can only hit the pink part on the back of his neck, which is not easy unless you do a jump parry dash.
Why You Can’t Parry Dash
You will not be able to parry dash in the Cuphead DLC unless you equip the Astral Cookie charm and play as Ms. Chalice. Mugman and Cuphead can only perform regular parrying, a rotating slap while double-jumping.
Tip: Parry Dash to Jump Higher
Thanks to Ms. Chalice’s double jump ability, you can combine parry dashing with jumping to reach the top corners of the screen. To do so, you need to double jump first and parry dash before Ms. Chalice hits the ground.
There are specific achievements and coins in the game that are inaccessible unless you use this technique. Take the coin on the top-right corner of Recipe for Ms. Chalice’s mission as an example.
